What ABC could have asked about.
Support the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq
With mainstream media outlets like ABC intent on wasting voters’ time and insulting their intelligence, it’s up to us to start defining the debate about Iraq.
By nearly all accounts, ABC’s presidential debate last night reached new lows in our nation’s political discourse. Irrelevant non-stories dominated, while one of the most important issues—how to responsibly and ethically end the occupation of Iraq—was barely discussed.
Let’s make the debate about the Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq.
You wouldn’t know it from watching ABC, but there is a new proposal to remove practically all U.S. troops from Iraq. Not surprisingly, it’s not coming from a Congress that has done little to address the occupation. National security experts and retired generals with extensive experience in Iraq have created the “Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq.” Several dozen congressional candidates have signed on. And now we can, too.
Sign on as a citizen endorser of the Responsible Plan today.
The Responsible Plan includes clear steps to:
1. End U.S. Military Action in Iraq
2. Use U.S. diplomatic power
3. Address humanitarian concerns
4. Restore our Constitution
5. Restore our military
6. Restore independence to the media
7. Create a new, U.S.-centered energy policy
Put pressure on Congress, presidential candidates, and the media by showing your support for the Responsible Plan—- and then please get some friends involved too.
We’re in Iraq because of our compliant Congress and media. We can’t count on them to get us out without significant citizen pressure. We’ll use your signatures to convince our representatives in Washington and the mainstream media to take immediate steps to bring American military engagement in Iraq to a responsible end and prevent a repeat of the mistakes we’ve made.
Thank You for working to build a better world.
