wow. there’s a lot of “brand” money out there.
alternatively, surf to http://timelog.metanotes.com
ahhhh, time log !
plus it works on all smartphones !
the ultimate ui for smartphones is one single prompt, like twitter. we apply this attitude towards private journaling.
in other words, really engage them with topics that mean a lot to them. job opportunities are a perennial.
our primary marketing event will be back to school and…
if you were on this space at the same time as me…
we still have many connections with our professors and were just written up in our MBA newsletter.
this will fuel our promo bang-for-the-buck.
that is the gist of our assault on…
we just want to fund our college marketing rollout this fall. we think the first users will do the rest.
i wonder if Dave has read web design for ROI or landing page optimization, he sounds like a GURU.
you know what?
students spend billions on notebooks and other school supplies each year.
students are very insecure about taking notes.
they know that notes are their salvation.
we are ourselves obsessed with taking tons of notes, and we will spread that infection.
not to mention the web’s ability to SHARE notes with one another in real time means that METANOTES would form the ULTIMATE “backchannel” for tomorrow’s classroom.
wikis suck, i’m really sorry to sound so mean, but this beats a wiki to me anyday. any company standardizing on yet-another-wiki – well, let’s just say i feel sorry for them.
let’s move to your next point, activation.
unless of course you use METANOTES to skip class all the time… although sometimes the class sucks and it’s better to cooperate
that said we will definitely create a set of value proposition communication devices that will grow in size and quality over time.
we will harness user-generated content to get our users to create video about METANOTES and we will ourselves create help documentation videos using Snapz Pro.
ppl who haven’t seen METANOTES will maybe be taken aback by the wide-spanning interface. they’ll get used to it. the most important thing is that they start creating and filling notes up. we can measure these events carefully to optimize our usage persuasion.
you should explore @beppu’s metaspace; he has tons and tons of specs in there we’ve all created together.
people should be excited to greet new users.
for instance, an ontology of colleges as “circles” (our jargon for metanotes-groups – see the circles menu at the top of this screen. this way you can find your college and then drill down to find your class (or just start a new page).
ideally we’ll get them in touch with “mentors” so they can quickly learn how to work the system.
notetaking should be FUN not tedious. this is why our users will be excited to use METANOTES rather than just pen & paper.
if this usage is killer for conference-types like you and me, just think of what students will do with it.
this means that individual, say, New York Times articles can be pumped by us into an “nytimes” circle.
in this fashion, conversations can sprout up on each article, each article a seed for a remote whiteboarding session.
craigslist/hotornot – here we come :)
we’ll be adding more value proposition stuff to the “register” side of this dialogue soon.
