New Features Include Model Realviews, Dark Apparel 2.0, and Name-Your-Royalty
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/—Zazzle, the only on-demand retail platform to offer billions of retail quality, one-of-a-kind products shipped within 24 hours, today announced the launch of their technology-powered platform and new business verticals focusing on music, entertainment and fashion. In addition, the company announced new features including Model Realviews, Dark Apparel 2.0, and Name-Your-Royalty.
The proprietary technology-powered platform enables Zazzle to offer revolutionary features currently not available anywhere else in the market-place.
“These technologies will dramatically change the game for online retail,” said James Heckman, Chief Strategy Officer of Zazzle. “The innovation is remarkable, and Zazzle’s platform with the proprietary tools could allow any retailer or designer, regardless of size, to conduct business with similar distribution, inventory strength, and ability to market, as a major brand.”
The new features unveiled today further Zazzle’s offering of the most powerful array of customization tools, enabling users to create an infinite number of high quality products. Model Realviews, Dark Apparel 2.0 and Name-Your-Royalty are now available, providing an even more powerful experience for consumers, while also enabling sellers to earn more revenue.
“Since we started Zazzle, one of our greatest challenges has been bridging the gap between user-generated product designs and the real, high-quality products that we manufacture,” said Bobby Beaver, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of Zazzle. “Our Model Realviews technology is an extraordinary technological achievement that will enable consumers to preview exactly what user-generated products will look like in real life.
It will also enable our sellers to more effectively merchandise their brands and their products by choosing models that fit their target demographics.”
Model Realviews is the first ever application of motion picture special effect technologies to e-commerce
-- It enables users to design apparel online by uploading images and
designs, directly upon real models
-- Users can also sell their designs and instantly merchandize them by
choosing from hundreds of models of all ages, sizes, and demographics
that appeal to their customer base
-- Engineering effort led by one of the early architects of Macromedia
Dark Apparel 2.0 is next generation proprietary dark apparel technology and the first ever on-demand manufacturing of dark apparel that is better than screen printing
-- Users can upload images and designs with millions of colors, instead of
being limited to several with screen printing
designed on the website
Name-Your-Royalty gives sellers more control than ever over how much money they can make through selling on Zazzle’s on-demand retail platform
-- Sellers can easily name their royalty rate on every product that they
sell, from 10% to 99% of the retail price, and change it at anytime
-- Real-time reporting of sales and royalties online, which enables more
effective price testing and merchandising
“Zazzle is all about developing innovative technology solutions that empower content creators to make money, and Name-Your-Royalty will provide a much greater monetization opportunity for our users, as it puts the pricing and margin power directly in their hands,” said Jeff Beaver, Co-Founder of Zazzle. “This is a big step forward toward our larger mission of democratizing the monetization of digital content, so that any content creator - no matter how big or small - can generate real revenue from their creative works.”
In celebration of the new platform launch, Zazzle will be hosting an invitation only, VIP event tonight in Hollywood, California.
Zazzle sent me an invitation to submit a design for their Mother’s Day contest. Who could resist that? They did the same for Earth Day and got 521 entries. I couldn’t help myself, I entered something I actually did create there for my mom, albeit five years ago.
Zazzle looks even more clever with this contest when you throw in the fringe benefit of word-of-mouth marketing. I realized this just now as I emailed all my friends, asking them to vote for my Mother’s Day design.
Good going, Zazzle! You turned a dormant, unprofitable customer into someone who’s spending money AND talking about you.
switch comes AFTER the 50,000 campaign. let’s really price this thing out.
that’s worth mailing out about, especially if it launches a new brand.
